Outside the Razor Wire w/ Pork DAWG
Today’s Question:
“What are the rules when you arrive at a new prison unit?”
I’m talking Texas here. 90+ units: transfer, medical, max security. First arrival? It’s check-in time.
Everything is racially divided. Mexicans check Mexicans. Whites check whites. Same goes for every group.
You’ll be asked:
-
Where you from? (D-Town? H-Town?)
-
Who do you run with?
-
What do your tattoos mean?
They’re checking if you’re real, or a problem.
Then come the block rules. Respect, hygiene, dayroom etiquette.
And if you slip up? Your own people handle it.
🚨 First Day Nerves
Places like Coffield Unit are no joke—four floors of steel and sweat.
I remember a new guy once asked, “How bad is this place?”
I said:
“Same as any other. If you look for trouble, you’ll find it. Otherwise, do your time and stay out of the way.”
While waiting for classification, he saw blood on the floor. Someone had just been stabbed.
Not exactly a warm welcome.
🔒 Why Rules Matter
They keep structure, order, and survival. Without them? Chaos.
That’s First Day Rules 101 with Pork Dawg.
Stay sharp. Respect goes a long way. And don’t forget to wear your smile—you never know what door it’ll open.
